In April the project was approved by Xplore. Xplore is a new programme that subsidizes exchanges, voluntary work and internships in developing countries. It is meant for young Dutch people from 12 to 30 years old. The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Development Co-operation) finances the Xplore programme. Xplore is executed by the International Department of the Netherlands Youth Institute in cooperation with Plan Netherlands. www.xplore.nl We selected twelve journalist and media students out of the many enthusiastic reactions. On May 13th World2xPress held the projects first preparatory meeting. That day the participants meet World2xPress, Xplore and each other for the first time. In the afternoon Bertico Frans professor at the HvA gave a workshop in Intercultural Competences and the discourse in the Dutch media in the frame of interethnic relation patterns. The Suriname group consist of Alieke, Kim, Laura en Linda will leave on the 19th of june. Gerbrich, Hieke, Shantih en Tom are the Nicaragua group and will leave on the 28th of June.
